Join me in celebrating life Empty The Conclusion of Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan

Post  Plexim Sat Aug 11, 2012 6:11 am

Context: At the end of the film, Spock has given his life to save the Enterprise and her crew. His body, after a service to remember him and where Kirk said of his friend, 'Of my friend I can only say this; of all the souls I have encountered on my travels...his was the most human...'
Spock's body was then ejected in a tube onto the surface of the new born Genesis Planet. The enterprise is leaving and returning home and Kirk, Bones and Dr.Carol Markus who lead the team that developed Genesis are looking back on the planet musing about Spock... :

Kirk: There are always possibilities, Spock used to say and indeed if Genesis is 'life from lifelessness' I must return again to this place again some day.'

Bones: He's really not really gone so long as we remember him.

Kirk: 'It's a far better thing I do now, than I have ever done, A far better resting resting place I go to than I have ever known...'

Carol: Is that a poem?

Kirk: No...just something Spock was trying to tell me....on my birthday.

Bones: Are you alright, Jim? How do you feel?

Kirk: I feel young,...I feel young.
